Our Mission

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity Isn't.

Since 1964, OIC of America has worked inside the communities others overlook, finding the people that standard hiring pipelines miss, training them and opening doors to careers in high-demand industries that America needs filled. Those deep local roots are what set us apart. They’re how we recognize talent that has always had the ability, connect them to opportunity, and build the relationships with employers that strengthen communities.
Our Vision

A Better Tomorrow

We see a country where opportunity reaches as far as talent does. Where a good career is within reach no matter where you start, and every person has what they need to support their family and thrive. That’s the tomorrow we’re working toward.

Our History

Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America. OICA was founded in 1964 in Philadelphia by the Reverend Dr. Leon Sullivan. Dr. Sullivan, a well-respected and beloved minister, dedicated his entire life to fighting for social justice. Self-reliance was Dr. Sullivan’s adage, and it remains the goal of OIC affiliates internationally.

Partners & Affiliates

Our affiliates and training partners are the local roots that set us apart. Affiliates are OIC locations in the communities they serve; our training partners extend that reach even further across the US. Both bring the trusted relationships and firsthand knowledge that help us find talent others miss, deliver training employers can count on at scale, and strengthen the workforce close to home.
