Vocational Training

Overview

Vocational training represents a core element of OIC’s mission. Through our national network of affiliates, we offer opportunities for education and training that helps lower-skilled workers learn new skills and earn industry-recognized credentials that enable them to launch family-supporting careers with clear pathways for advancement. Our programs serve both the unemployed as well as working adults who seek to improve their skills  and their economic situation. We partner with employers to better understand their workforce needs and target sectors of the local economy at each site that offer current and future career opportunities. Our program graduates have been successfully placed in diverse careers in construction, information technology, health care, manufacturing, the auto industry and the new green economy.
